Fascia & Soffits

Fascia & Soffits

The Roofing and Fascia Company are specialist installers of uPVC fascia and soffits, with over 20 years of experience.

Fascia and soffits are located at the base of your roof overhang. Fascia boards are used for the front-facing side and soffit boards are used for the underside, both work collaboratively to create a seal between your roof and walls.

The fascia board usually carries all the guttering around a property, whilst also providing support for the bottom row of roof tiles.

Fascia can also be referred to as bargeboard when located on the apex next to the roof verge, up a gable end. The same material, just used for a different application. Fascia boards and bargeboards are merged together using box end boards, which are situated at the corner of the eaves.

Soffit boards bridge the gap between the fascia board and the brickwork. These can come in the form of hollow, plain and vented boards.

Hollow soffit is a lightweight option that creates a sleek, tongue and groove appearance, plain soffit is a solid board designed to create a smooth, clean finish and vented soffit has air gaps pre-installed to allow airflow where over fascia vents cannot be used.

Included with our installation service

Eaves Protection Trays

Eaves protection trays are a very simple solution to keeping roof lines water tight, they help eliminate the issue of damp and rotting in the rafters by supporting the felt at the lower-level eaves when there is water retention.

Over Fascia Vent

Hidden between your gutter and roof tiles, over fascia vents provide a flow of air into the roof space. This protects your infrastructure from condesation and mould forming, therefore reducing the risk of decay and rot in your roof.

Birdcomb

Comb filler or "bird comb" provides a physical barrier to stop birds and large insects entering the roof space between the felt and tiles.
Only necessary when your roof tiles present an entrance in the roof space.

Guttering

Guttering

No fascia and soffit installation is complete without guttering.

Generally, uPVC guttering has a life expectancy of up to 30 years. At which point, it will begin to show signs of fatigue due to the stress it would likely have endured in its time.

The core job of guttering is direct rainwater away from your home. Without a functional gutter system, rainwater will collect on your roof and around the foundation of your home, causing mold, rot and deterioration, leading to costly repairs down the line.

The Roofing and Fascia Company can offer effective and attracitve uPVC and aluminium guttering options to replace your existing system. All available in a range of colours to match your fascia and soffits boards for a complete look.

The four different profiles of guttering, all available in black, white, anthracite and brown, are:
Half Round

The most commonly used profile, a very practical system with a good flow capacity and a minimal look.
Square Line

A rectiliniar profile, flow capacity in excess of the half round profile. Ideal choice for homes with above average rainfall.
Hi-Cap or "Deepflow"

A high-capacity, semi-elliptical profile which usually requires less use of outlets and drainage runs.
Niagara Ogee

A traditional, decorative profile with an great flow capacity. Compatible with round or square downpipes.

Gutter Cleaning & Repairs

Gutter Cleaning & Repairs

Guttering is an important aspect of any residential or commercial property and is essential to keep your house protected from water damage.
Heavy storms and high winds can misalign fittings and detach joints, this can weaken your gutters and cause parts to break entirely. This, by no means, means the whole gutter system should be replaced. The Roofing and Fascia Company will be more than happy to assist in repairing the defective section(s) of the gutter. No job is too small.

In addition to that, typically in the autumnal and winter months, with the copious amounts of rainfall the UK recieves, leaves, moss and lichen can fall off your roof into drainage outlets, build up and cause a blockage, which will lead to your gutters overflowing.

Clogged or leaking gutters can cause serious water damage your brickwork, potentially leaving ugly staining to your interior walls and ceiling. It can also attract pests and drown garden beds, which is why it's vital to have your gutters cleaned regularly, or repaired whenever you spot a breakage or leak.

It is recommended to have your gutters cleaned bi-annually. If gutter cleaning or a gutter repair is what you need. Contact The Roofing and Fascia Company now for a free, accurate quotation!
